FFT calculations

EI-Balance calculations are based on the FFT Algorithm. All FFT calculations are performed independently in order to insure high performances and accuracy.

Before FFT calculations, EI-Balance implements an algorithm to remove DC offset. This process normalizes the signal removing the mean value from the signal. The resultant signal has a 0 mean value. This process eliminates inexistent low frequencies from your signal before performing the FFT algorithm.

FFT Accuracy depends on the length of the recorded signal. EI-Balance has the posibility to change the recorded length in order to increase precision. This is mostly used to improve balancings at very low speed such as 60 to 100 RPM.

EI-Balance includes a balancing calculator with the following features:

  • Single plane balancing calculator: This is a balancing calculator for 1 plane with 1 trial mass.
  • 2 Plane balancing calculator: Balancing calculator for 2 planes with 2 trial masses, Influence Coefficient Method.
  • Split weights formula: Used to calculate the weights needed dividing a single weight for two different positions.
  • Combine weights: Used to calculate a single weight from 2 different masses.
  • Drill depth: Calculates the drill depth when removing material.
  • Solids mass calculation: Calculates the weight of a solid used as counterweight.
  • Trial weight calculation: Calculates the recomended weight for the trial mass.
  • Radius changing: Used to calculate the correction mass when the radius changes.
  • Serial balancings: When balancing several identical machines, trial mass run can be avoided with this calculator. The software will automatically give the correction mass after the initial run.
  • Residual unbalance: Used to calculate the residual unbalance on a given machine.
Tracking Filter

Tracking Filter

EI-Balance uses a tracking filter during the balancing process, this means that your machine can change itīs speed on each run and the filter will track the speed. This filter can be adjusted by the user to set a range in order to limit the search.

Calibration

Calibration

All sensors are precalibrated with a sensitivity of 330 mV/G, however your computer will need to be calibrated when first installing. This is a very easy task using the calibration device, some videos regarding this subject are offered in the software package.
